ARNOLD TOYNBEE HANDWRITTEN AND SIGNED NOTE OF SYMPATHY laid in a First Edition Copy of His Book CHRISTIANITY AMONG THE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD. His handwritten note is on a 5x5 inch piece of paper. The note reads: "I very much hope that / what I have written has been of / some use to you. / I send you my very genuine sympathy. / Yours sincerely, / Arnold Toynbee".

The note is undated, but the book it is in is dated 1957, so possibly circa 1957. The writing on the note begins at the very top of the piece of paper, indicating that the note may have been the last part of a longer letter with only this last part clipped and kept by the previous owner, I have no way of knowing for certain. The note is laid in the following book: CHRISTIANITY AMONG THE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD, by ARNOLD TOYNBEE. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, 1957. VERY GOOD book, slight slant to the spine, a bit of shelf wear to the spine ends and corner tips, overall just lightly used and still tight, bright, clean and unmarked; in a GOOD dustjacket that has scraping to its folds, creasing and some chipping to its edges, spine ends and corner tips, and some rubbing, but is still bright and doing its job well. The dustjacket retains its $2.75 printed price at the top of the front flap. The handwriting and signature of Arnold Toynbee are bright and clear. The paper his message is written on has a couple folds.
