Full Title: XXe SIÈCLE Nouvelle Série - XXIVe Année - Trois numéros par an publiés sous la direction de G. di San Lazzaro. No. 18, 19, 20, 1962. These three issues comprise the issues published in 1962. These are all original FRENCH EDITIONS, with text in FRENCH. Published in Paris, France. Issue No. 18, Février 1962. Has an ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPH by VIEIRA DA SILVA, plus articles on and/or reproductions of art by Giacometti, Vieira da Silva, Baj, Max Ernst, and others. Text in French. Issue No. 19, Juin 1962. Has THREE ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPHS, one each by MAX ERNST, MANESSIER, and ENRICO BAJ, plus a BRAQUE illustrated front cover. There are also
articles on and/or reproductions of art by Kokoschka, Ernst, Calder, Braque, and others. Text in French. All three issues bound together in Library Hardcovers, red cloth covered boards, titled in gilt on the spine, 9x12 inches, unpaginated (though small page numbers have been handwritten at the bottom of many pages), approximately 130 pages each. Again, the complete issues are bound in, including front and rear covers, and all called for original lithographs. EX-LIBRARY (deaccessioned from the Lambeth Public Library, near London, England), with library hardcovers, gilt shelving number on spine, library bookplate on
the front pastedown and on the inside front cover of the first issue, library stamps on all title pages, and library stamps here and there throughout. The Library bookplate states that the volume was kept in the Reference Library and it was not to be taken out of the Reference area, meaning it probably spent its life undisturbed on a shelf. Someone, perhaps a librarian, neatly hand numbered many of the unnumbered pages at the bottom where one would normally find printed page numbers. MOST IMPORTANT TO NOTE is that there is a red "Lambeth Public Libraries" stamped discreetly at the bottom of SOME of the lithographs. The lithographs WITHOUT any stamp are the VIEIRA DA SILVA and the MAX ERNST. The lithographs WITH the discrete stamp are the JEAN ARP, MANESSIER, and ENRICO BAJ. There is also a library stamp below or above many of the other illustrations. The stamp on the lithos really is not disturbing, often only partially visible, but it IS present (please see photos). Ex library aside, the covers and both of the bound in issues are in Very Good condition, tight, bright, clean and clear. The original lithographs are all bright and gorgeous.
