ANTALOGY: FIVE HUNDRED YEARS YIDDISH POETRY, by M. Bassin. VOLUME ONE (of two volumes). Published in New York, 1917. Hardcovers (now disbound), 8x10.5 inches, rough cut leaves. Pagination: [4], 265, xxii, 4 pages. Lacking the blank front free endpaper, rear blank endpaper present, otherwise complete. TEXT IN YIDDISH. A collection of Yiddish poems with short biographies. Illustrated with small, in text linocuts and line drawings, including images of some of the poets. Condition: Covers are disbound (i.e. laid on loosely), are soiled, worn through at the corners and edges, rough at the spines (where disbound), and soiled; the rear cover has a 1 inch wide strip missing from the spine edge of its blank backside; the spine covering is missing. Internally, the hinge is cracked / split at a number of places but always holding, there is some spotting here and there, the pages have some toning, especially at the edges, and a bit of edge wear here and there, but are overall bright, clean, clear and unmarked.
