Three ANNUAL REPORTS of the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE of SAN FRANCISCO 1886, 1890 & 1891
Three ANNUAL REPORTS of the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE of SAN FRANCISCO, for the years 1886, 1890 and 1891. These three reports are bound together in a single book. Each report is bound in with its front wrapper and all its inner pages but lacking its rear wrapper.
Hardcovers, leather spine and corners, 5.5x8.5 inches. The three annual reports bound in. The 1886 report has 90 pages, the 1890 report has116 pages and the 1891 report has 115 pages.
Each report contains lots of information and data about commerce in San Francisco, including, banking, coinage of silver, ship building, the China trade, brokerage, etc.
The leather of the cover's spine and corners has RED ROT (it leaves brown marks on anything it touches). Please be aware of this and know how to deal with it. I list this item because I think the three original San Francisco annual reports are important.
The front cover is disbound and the covers are well worn with the leather spine and corners being heavily scraped. Internally, there is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown (Everett E. Farwell), a different previous owner's signature on the front free endpaper (?.?. Steele) dated 1891, some light shorelining and toning to the endpapers; a signature and/or a number written at the top of the front wrapper of each report; otherwise the bound in reports and all their pages are bright, clean, clear and unmarked.
Rare ORIGINAL SF Chamber of Commerce Annual Reports. An interesting look at San Francisco commerce in the late 1800s.
