Yosan Jijitsu - THREE JAPANESE ILLUSTRATED WOODBLOCK PRINTED VOLUMES on SERICULTURE / SILK PRODUCTION in a custom-made Folding Case. By Sakai Yoshitane.
[Osaka, Japan], Toshundo, Meiji 6 .
Three volumes, yellow paper covers, printed on double-leaves, stab-stich binding, 6x8.75 inches (15x22 cm). All three volumes held together in a blue cloth covered folding case.
Illustrated with 31 full-page woodblock prints, 3 in color (10 b&w illustrations in each of two volumes, 3 color and 8 b&w illustrations in one volume). The illustrations depict the cultivation of silkworms and production of silk. TEXT IN JAPANESE.
GOOD Condition: The wrappers are soiled and have signs of handling and general wear but are well bound and doing their job well; there are ink smears on two of the color woodblock illustrations (perhaps a printer's error); otherwise the pages and illustrations are bright, clean and clear throughout.
RARE. WorldCat only lists three copies, at Cornell University Library, National Diet Library (National Library of Japan, Tokyo), and University of Melbourne Library (Australia).
