ILLUSTRATED with 44 engraved plates (33 double-page, 7 fold-open, and 4 single page); a two page engraved map of the State of Milan (now Lombardy) showing the location of the Villas; plus 17 in-text drawings in a section at the rear that contains notes about the various Villas.
NEAR FINE book, there is a bump to the lower right corner of the front cover and to the bottom of the spine, and there is a 1 inch thin indent on Plate IV, otherwise beautiful; in a GOOD slipcase that has a few bumps and some general wear but is solid and doing its job well.
Marc'Antonio Dal Re, b.1697 d.1766, was an Italian engraver and publisher. He is known for his engravings of villas and vedute of the State of Milan.
