In 1919 just as Prohibition loomed, San Francisco editor and wine aficionado Horatio Francis Stoll (1875-1947) debuted his California Grape Grower Magazine. For the next three decades Stoll's Wines & Vines was the premier publication for the Wine Industry, Grape Industry, Wine Makers, Wine Producers, Vintners, Wineries, and Viticulturists, featuring articles by some of the most influential wine makers, leaders in grape growing and cutting edge wine researchers of the day. A rare glimpse into the early days of California wine.
