Two works in one. CICERONIS: [48], 504 pages; ISOCRATES: 33 pages, Bound in hardcovers, later leather-backed marbled boards, morocco spine label lettered in gilt, speckled edges. (12mo) 3x5 inches (7x12.5 cm). Illustrated with a printer's device on each of the two title pages, and some engraved title letters.
The first volume is a collection of half a dozen compilations of classical aphorisms of Cicero, mostly compiled by Petrus Lagnerius, edited by Bogarutius a` Bogarutiis.
The short 33 page work of ISOCRATES at the rear is ESPECIALLY SCARCE.
Condition: Scattered faint foxing, small area of worming to last four leaves with minimal loss to text, first title page has some paper repairs, previous owner's signature at the bottom of the front free endpaper, otherwise tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked.
