1928 N.Y.K. SHIPPING LINES from JAPAN to the WORLD - Glimpses of the East N.Y.K Official Shipper's & Traveler's Guide to all the Principal Ports of the World ILLUSTRATED
GLIMPSES OF THE EAST - N.Y.K. OFFICIAL GUIDE - Eleventh Annual Issue 1928-1929 - SHIPPER'S & TRAVELER'S GUIDE to all the PRINCIPAL PORTS of the WORLD.
THE N.Y.K. LINE (THE NIPPON YUSEN KAISHA / THE JAPAN MAIL STEAMSHIP COMPANY) and the part played by N.Y.K. in the Global Shipping Market.
Published by T. Kawata, Tokyo, Japan, 1928.
Hardcovers, blue cloth covered boards, embossed with gilt and silver lettering and designs on the front cover and spine, 7.5x10.5 inches, thick volume paginated in 23 thumb-indexed tabbed sections. Included are sections on China, Formosa, Hong Kong, British India, Australia, British Columbia, United States (especially San Francisco, the largest and most important West Coast port in 1928).
Profusely ILLUSTRATED throughout with color and b&w photographs. Contains lots of shipping and travel related ads of the day. I am particularly fond of the many hotel and regional business ads that precede each country section.
VERY GOOD condition, the covers are rubbed and have a bit of wear to the corner tips and spine ends, but are sturdy and attractive; internally, a light crease to some early pages, otherwise tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. A solid, nice, very presentable copy.
