WARMLY INSCRIBED by the AUTHOR Alain Le Berre on the entire half-title page. The inscription is in French (photograph supplied). My limited French translates it as:
"Paris, 11.18.1994 / General EARNEST was one of the liberators of Brittany in August 1944. It is a great honor and greatly satisfying to be able to give his daughter and grand-daughter a copy of "La Bretagne à l'Épreuve", in remembrance also of our meeting in Audierne on 20 September 1994. // A. Le Berre // Equally in honor of the GI's who died for the liberation of Brittany and France."
VERY GOOD condition, the covers have some shelf wear and rubs, internally tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked.
The inscription makes this book worth holding close to the heart.
