GOOD MINUS condition, the covers are worn through at the corner tips, have wear at the spine ends, and the cloth to the spine folds has some chips; internally, the front and rear inner hinges are cracked but holding well, there is some staining at the bottom margin of the front and rear endpapers and a bit to the subsequent few pages, otherwise the pages are just lightly toned as normal, and still tight, bright, clear, clean and unmarked. A solid, presentable copy.

******Charles Jasper Joly, b.1864 d.1906, was an Irish mathematician and astronomer who became Royal Astronomer of Ireland.
In 1897, he was appointed Royal Astronomer of Ireland and he took up his new position at Dunsink Observatory. He was secretary of the Royal Irish Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1904.******
