Published by the Black Panther Party Ministry Of Information, San Francisco, California, circa 1970. Introduction by Eldridge Cleaver. Variant first edition. Softcover, illustrated wrappers, 10" x 6.75", side staple bound, 40 numbered pages, illustrated with a Black Panther, photographs of Huey Newton, and a portrait of Newton by Black Panther artist Emory Douglas. GOOD CONDITION: the front cover has a stain (probably coffee) to the upper spine corner and a few random droplets not affecting the inside cover or inner pages, a lower bottom corner-tip crease, the covers have light toning, internally excellent, just light signs of age and light use, otherwise tight, bright, clean and unmarked.

This is a variant version of the first edition, with similar contents but different covers, layout and pagination. Although both printings were issued around 1970, the printing priority is undetermined. This variant issue was released with a small errata slip [not present in this copy] apologizing for printing errors and stating the print run was 5000 copies.
