Hardcovers (front and rear boards disbound but present), leather covered boards, 4x6.5 inches, 336 pages.

Condition: The front and rear covers are disbound but present (laid on loosely), the covers are scuffed and scraped but are original; the spine title label has a small chip but the label titling remains clear. Internally, there is foxing and toning throughout, sometimes heavy but the text is always legible.

******Oliver Harris was an early pioneer of New Market Township. His contribution to the township and the county and the country can be seen in his diary and a legacy of descendants that pioneered Oregon and Indiana.

He was born 2 July 1780 in Cumberland County, NJ and moved to Highland County, Ohio in 1810. He participated in the local militia during the War of 1812, and his son and grandsons were Civil War veterans.

Oliver and his second wife Mary Kezer Harris along with sons Samuel and Robert and their wives, and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson are all buried in the New Market Baptist Church Cemetery.******
