Opponents included the Kokomo Red Sox, Marion Boosters, Frankfort Independents, Cuban All-Stars, and many others.
There are some relevant newspaper clippings pasted on the front endpapers, as well as signatures of a few of the players: George Crittenberger, Carlos Harrison, and Everett Case.
TWO LETTERS are laid-in, to and from CARLOS HARRISON and SID NEWMAN, two players on the 1916-1917 Anderson Eagles. These letters are from 1963 and are reminiscing about the good old baseball days. Here is bit from one letter by Carlos to Sid: "Nothing like nostalgia to keep us old fellas going...You keep the score book just as long as you want ol' slugger - chances are you'll still outlive me...Doc Wiley, I know is dead, and so is Pat Casey, the Eagles boss, who gave me a fine watch at the end of the season - I still have it - it still runs...Hope you enjoy the reliving of this small part of your career..."
Condition: The scorebook covers are worn and fraying at the edges, shaky, and splitting at the front and rear inner hinge, but still holding together. The inner pages have toned, but are complete and the handwriting and scoring is fully legible. The letters are bright and clean.
