Vietnam War 1967 PROTEST MARCH Six Original Signed Photographs SAN FRANCISCO Counterculture

On April 15, 1967 over 100,000 people peacefully marched from downtown San Francisco to Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park, as part of the Spring Mobilization to End the Vietnamese War campaign. Speakers at this historic antiwar protest included Coretta Scott King, Eldridge Cleaver, and Julian Bond. With growing opposition to the Vietnam War, resistance to the draft, the US government's inexplicable escalation of the War, combined with the Black Power Movement and Counterculture revolution, America responded with mass peace demonstrations that expanded greatly over the next four years.

Collection of Six Mounted Original Black & White Photographs, each Captioned and Signed by the unknown photographer Thomas R. Barton, in black pen on the mount below the image. Slightly different sizes, mostly 8" x 5.5" including the cream mounting board. Printed circa 1967. VERY GOOD Condition: the images are excellent, the mounts have light wear, some finger smudges, and small stains, overall a solid and bright collection of unique and historic San Francisco anti Vietnam War ephemera.

Digitized KRON TV News footage (San Francisco State University, Bay Area Television Archive) of the April 15, 1967 protest march show some of the same demonstrators appearing in these photographs, clearly placing and dating these images.
