Hardcovers, professionally rebacked and reinforced making the two volumes solid, well bound, and attractive; burgundy cloth covered spine with original spine leather mounted to spine cloth, marbled paper covered boards, leather corners; 6x8.5 inches (14x21.5 cm). Pagination: lxxviii, 382; xvi, 616. The folding color map is present (it is often lacking) and bound in V.I following page liv.
GOOD condition: The covers have been professionally restored, the boards have scrapes and rubs, the spine leather has numerous chips, overall these covers are now sturdy and attractive; internally, there a previous owner's signature at the top of the half-title page of each volume, otherwise the inner pages are very nice, tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. A solid, well-preserved set.
