100s of cocktails described in both Japanese and English. Likely published for Japanese bartenders serving American soldiers and tourists, and vice versa.

Small format hardcover book, orange cloth covered boards, 4.5x6 inches. Pagination: [2], 6, [4], 143, 7; plus blank endpapers. English index at the front and Japanese index at the back.

This copy was perhaps owned by a Japanese bartender who took the time to study the book and make it more accessible and understandable to the Japanese mixologist. There are relevant informational notes handwritten in Japanese in pencil on the title page and here and there throughout. The Japanese note on the title page roughly translates as: "The main text of this book is based on THE DINERS' CLUB DRINK BOOK. Of the 223 entries in the book, 159 are from the aforementioned book, and only 64 are original, mostly rarely seen, and are marked with..."

In VERY GOOD condition, there are some Japanese notes, as mentioned above, otherwise the book is solid, bright, and clean. A nice copy, made much more interesting with the handwritten notes, imho.
