THE GEORGIAN PRESS : MID-CENTURY MODERN TYPE SPECIMEN BOOK

THE GEORGIAN PRESS TYPE SPECIMEN BOOK.

Hardcovers, silver paper covered boards and black cloth covered spine, "TYPE" embossed on the front cover, folio 11x14 inches, a few introductory pages then 95 pages of Type Specimens.

NEW YORK: The Georgian Press, Inc., 175 Varick Street, New York. Undated, but circa the late 1940s, as indicated by the cover with its big, bold mid-century modern look, and the large debossed block typography sample pages, both representative of that era. Limited edition with the statement: "A limited number of copies of this book were printed, of which this is copy ____"; but no copy number is provided.

GOOD condition: the covers corner tips are worn through and the spine ends are frayed, otherwise the covers are bright and doing their job well; internally, the first few pages have some waviness to the bottom margin, else the pages are tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. A solid, nice copy.
