Scarce 1935 San Francisco Stock Exchange Promotional Pamphlet encouraging the Trading of Stocks on this New High Tech Exchange. SAN FRANCISCO STOCK MARKET EXCHANGE : History Organization Operation

Published by the Public Relations Committee of the San Francisco Stock Exchange, 1935. Third printing revised, so stated. Brown paper wrappers with brown printing on the front cover, 7.75" x 5.25", side-staple bound, 28 pages, illustrated with 4 photographic plates and 1 drawing. GOOD Condition: the covers are sunned, some edge wear, upper corner is creased, chipped/tearing at spine-ends, internally excellent, tight, bright, clean and unmarked. Scarce, the OCLC shows only one copy of this 1935 revised edition held worldwide, in the collection of Stanford University.

In 1929, San Francisco Exchange seats sold for $250,000, and despite the stock market crash in October, the Exchange moved to newly built headquarters on Pine and Sansome streets in 1930. The trading floor was outfitted with cutting edge equipment to make communications move faster. There were telephone turret boards, pneumatic tube stations, an annunciator signal system, an automatically operated gong to open sessions and translux projectors of other exchanges' ticker tape. A ticker transmitter put out 300 characters per minute. Today the City Club occupies this space, but every once in a blue moon they let in a select few to view the hidden Diego Rivera mural the Exchange commissioned in 1930 .
