There are approximately 200 Pedigree Chart Sheets. The PEDIGREE CHART SHEETS are official printed LDS sheets with genealogical information that has been HAND TYPED onto them. The imprint of the type is tangible on the backsides. The amount of information on each sheet varies, depending on where the family connection to the D.O. Stanley family began. Some sheets have the full 31 lines filled in, some only the first 2 lines. The first name on the first Pedigree Chart Sheet is, of course, STANLEY, Donald Odell. There are approximately 300 individual family Data Sheets. The DATA SHEETS contain information on individual families, with HUSBAND at the top. Includes names of wife, children, and parents. Also gives dates of Baptism, date "Endowed", etc., relating to the family. Some of the sheets have hand typed information, most are photocopies of typed sheets. There are approximately 30 pages of photocopies of typed Family Histories. These are brief histories, each one or several pages long, of some of the individual families related to the D.O. Stanley family. There are some plastic covered sheets at the rear that contain original documents related to Donald Odell Stanley. All are official, with hand signatures, etc.

    They are: A Certified Copy of His Birth Certificate dated 1938; a Certificate of Blessing dated 1938; a Certificate of Baptism and Confirmation dated 1947; a Certificate of Baptism and Confirmation dated 1947;

    three Certificate of Ordination in the Aaronic Priesthood documents, one ordains him as a Deacon, one a Teacher, one a Priest, dated 1950, 1953 and 1954 respectively; a Certificate of Ordination to the Melchizedek Priesthood as an Elder. There are also some introductory sheets that are template sheets about the Church of Latter Day Saints, its Temples, Founders, etc. All are BOUND into a Mormon BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE binder, thick black cloth covered wooden boards, metal posts. Binder measures 9x15 inches, inner sheets are 8.5x14 inches. VERY GOOD CONDITION: There is a crease to the first page, an introductory page about Latter Day Saints, otherwise all the pages are well bound and are bright, clean, clear and fully legible. An incredibly rich genealogical history that must have taken forever to compile. Hardcovers, red cloth covered boards titled in gilt on the front cover and spine, 6x9 inches, 473 and 265 pages respectively.

    Both volumes are Ex-Library and have library ink stamps on the front and rear endpapers, a shelving number written on the front free endpaper, and a card pocket on the rear free endpaper. There is a "Withdrawn" stamp on the card pocket of both volumes, and the library ink stamps on the front free endpapers have been covered with a blank white mailing label.

    Ex-lib aside the books are in GOOD condition, the covers have the ghost of a sticker at the bottom of the spine and at the bottom margin of the front cover, there is sunning to the spines, and a bit of shelf wear to the bottom edges; there is light soiling to the page edges; internally the pages are tight, bright, clean and clear. Very presentable copies, even being ex-lib.

    RARE set of the two books. Das Siebenthal Revisited is especially scarce.

    About ARMAND GLADFELTER and DOROTHY HENRY GLADFELTER (from a 2017 article in the York Dispatch):

    ******A former Seven Valleys couple left millions after their deaths to help local students attend York College. Dorothy and Armand Gladfelter's bequest is providing more than $3.2 million to fund scholarships for York County students.

    Armand Gladfelter was president of A.C. Henry Inc. for 17 years and a vice president of the Spring Grove Area school board. He was also a well known local historian who wrote books on the Seven Valleys Area.

    Dorothy Gladfelter served as president of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and was a member of the York Historical Society. She taught piano for 72 years.

    Armand Gladfelter died in 1998 at age 83. Dorothy Gladfelter died in 2016 at age 98.

    "The Gladfelters were York County people, born and bred, and loved everything about it, including York College," said Bob Iosue, former president of York College. "The level of their bequest is an expression of their love of York County."******

    About Rev. Joseph Hilbert, to whom the books are inscribed: (from a 2012 article in the LNP - a Lancaster Newspaper):

    ******Joseph Hilbert, 85, a priest at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said he never thought of taking another path in life. He attended St. Charles College at age 16, then went on to St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia.

    Hilbert, who recently celebrated 60 years of ordination, was a principal for 10 years at Lebanon Catholic High School. He then moved to Bishop McDevitt in Harrisburg for three years. He worked with migrant Mexican farm workers from 1981 until 2002, when he retired at age 75 and came back to St. Joseph's, his home parish, to be close to his family.******

    So much love for York County and Seven Valleys!

Much of the material seems to have been gathered and written in the 2000s, up until her death in 2018. What I can glean from the material is that her main genealogical roots are WALTERS and FAIRCHILD, and that her early roots include Mississippi, among other places. The materials are all either 3 hole punched and in the rings of the binder, or stuffed loosely into the binders. All are clean and legible though in various states of handling, showing creases and use. The two books have relevant handwritten notes and marks. A jumbled treasure of genealogy. Have Fun!!! The personal property is in sections by room, i.e. LIVING ROOM, KITCHEN, UPSTAIRS FOYER, and sometimes by category, i.e. STERLING SILVER. Nonetheless a complete and interesting inventory valuation of the entire personal property of Irene Russell Washburn at the time of her death in 1957. Dated January 1957, the year of the death of Irene Russell Washburn.
