    About FLUXUS (from Wikipedia):

******Fluxus was an international, interdisciplinary community of artists, composers, designers and poets during the 1960s and 1970s who engaged in experimental art performances which emphasized the artistic process over the finished product. These art forms include intermedia, a term coined by Fluxus artist Dick Higgins; conceptual art, first developed by Henry Flynt, an artist contentiously associated with Fluxus; and video art, first pioneered by Nam June Paik and Wolf Vostell. Dutch art critic Harry Ruhé describes Fluxus as the most radical and experimental art movement of the sixties.

The ideas and practices of composer John Cage heavily influenced Fluxus. Especially his notions that one should embark on an artwork without a conception of its end, and his understanding of the work as a site of interaction between artist and audience. Another notable influence were the readymades of Marcel Duchamp. George Maciunas, largely considered to be the founder of this fluid movement, coined the name Fluxus in 1961 to title a proposed magazine.

Many artists of the 1960s took part in Fluxus activities, including Joseph Beuys, Willem de Ridder, George Brecht, John Cage, Robert Filliou, Al Hansen, Dick Higgins, Bengt af Klintberg, Alison Knowles, Addi Køpcke, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Shigeko Kubota, La Monte Young, Mary Bauermeister, Joseph Byrd, Ben Patterson, Daniel Spoerri, Ken Friedman, Terry Riley and Wolf Vostell. Fluxus played an important role in the broadening of what is considered art.******

French Renaissance master Bernard Palissy (c. 1510-1589) decorated his ceramics with trompe l'oeil flora and fauna including serpents, reptiles, shells, and amphibians cast from life. His art revolutionized the field of ceramics. Centuries later, 19th century potters rediscovered Palissy's techniques and inspired by the radical modern visions of nature, utopian fantasy, and science fiction of the times, created their own cabinet of curiosities in clay. Palissy died imprisoned at the Bastille because his religious beliefs did not align with the French governments, he was a Protestant.

HIROSHIGE-GA GOJUSAN-TSUGI GENJO SHASHIN TAISHO. Hiroshige 53 Stages of the Tokaido - Past and Present. ILLUSTRATED with Fifty-Five Color Prints of Hiroshige's 53 Stations of the Tokaido, each side-by-side with a c.1910 photograph of the locale most likely used as Hiroshige's source of inspiration. It is interesting to see how the locales looked to Hiroshige many years before the Taisho Era photographs of the same locales were taken (i.e. 1833 and c.1910).

Published by Tokoen, Tokyo, 1918, as part of the nationwide celebration of the 60th anniversary of Hiroshige's death (b.1797 d.1858).

Hardcover book, reddish brown cloth covered boards, front board embossed with gilt lettering and white designs, ribbon tied, 9x12 inches (22.5x30 cm), illustrated endpapers, 120 pages plus a 40 page appendix telling a classic Japanese comedic tale about two men traveling the Tokaido road.

ILLUSTRATED with 56 Color Woodblock Prints, 55 reproducing Hiroshige's 53 Stages of Tokaido (Hiroshige's 53 stations of the Tokaido consisted of 55 prints), and a frontispiece plate of Hiroshige; plus 55 b&w photographs showing the locale of each Hiroshige print as it was when the c.1910 photograph was taken.

Condition: The covers are abraded, the front endpapers have a few small worm holes, there is an old bookseller's catalog description taped on a blank prelim, the inner pages are lightly age toned as normal, there is some soiling, foxing, and light staining here and there mostly in the margins; overall the pages are sound and the prints and photographs are bright and lovely.

A complete copy of this rare side-by-side look at Hiroshige's 55 prints of the 53 stations of Tokaido, and corresponding photographs of the same locale taken in 1918.

A lovely copy of the book. The box is in GOOD MINUS condition, the side corners of the front flaps of the top are split, there is wear to all the corners and some rubbing along the edges, and the bottom has some spotting; nonetheless the box is still functioning well, retains its packaging band across the bottom which originally sealed the box (as it does the cigarette box), and the image is bright and clear.

A wonderful illustrated history of the packaging, advertising, designs, and overall graphics of the Greek cigarette.

Especially hard to find in its illustrated box container.

VERY GOOD condition, tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. I found a Chinese description online, the following is a rough translation of it by Google: ******Hong Kong Yindu Agency Co., Ltd. was established in 1982. It was mainly formed by the merger of three old film companies, Great Wall Film Production Company, Phoenix Film Company and Xinlian Film Company (collectively known as Chang Feng Xin). The Southern Film Company, which is engaged in domestic film distribution, as well as the Qingshuiwan Film Studio and Yindu Entertainment, have made Yindu a film organization with a comprehensive film and television system for production, film, theater, distribution and advertising. It has been sixty years since the predecessor of Yindu, the Great Wall Film Production Company and the Southern Film Company (founded in 1950). In the past 60 years, the Yindu system has produced 480 movies and 11 TV series, and has released nearly a thousand domestic films. The mysterious history of light and shadow created by countless shining stars and filmmakers has become a common memory that fans of generations will never wear out. This book is the predecessor of Yindu (Great Wall, Phoenix, Xinlian, South, Qingshuiwan Studio) and even the 60 year history of Yindu, including the purpose of each company, the development of each stage, and the introduction and release of the company. The film, the editorial director's articles and interviews, as well as important film reviews, and finally ended in a large scale film The Master of the Generation (Director Wang Jiawei) to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Yindu. The book is divided into four chapters the ideal age, the rough years, the reconstruction days and the revival period. 11 experts and scholars from the Mainland and Hong Kong were invited to write an article to discuss the characteristics and positioning of Yindu and its predecessors. The authors include: Lefu, Huang Ailing, Shi Qi, Li Weitao, Lin Jinbo and Zheng Chuanqi. Mainland authors include: Zhao Weifang, Sha Dan, Zhang Yan, Li Xiang, Si Ruo. The book has a total of about 1,000 photos. The appendix includes a list of the film and television works of the Yindu system, a list of staff and an interview summary of the industry. It is an important reference book for studying the development of Hong Kong's leftist films.****** INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: This book is heavy and will require substantial additional shipping charges.
