The photos are mostly of the EXTREME SPORT ATHLETES in ACTION on BIKES and SKATEBOARDS and even one on INLINE SKATES, performing at various locations of the GOT MILK GRAVITY TOUR.

The photos show athletes in the air and on the ground performing "Gravity Defying" stunts at various arenas where the tour event took place. Some of the photos are of crowds behind GOT MILK advertising barriers.

These photos are of the 2000 GOT MILK GRAVITY TOUR and I do not know exactly who the athletes that year were, but those of you who know your extreme athletes will be sure to recognize at least some of them. Thirty of the photos are b&w group publicity photos in front of a GOT MILK backdrop.

This 2000 Got Milk Gravity Tour was one of the early manifestations of the event that grew larger year by year. I found the following information about the athletes in the 2001 Got Milk Gravity Tour, though I do not know if the athletes were the same in 2000 as 2001. Here is what I found:

******The Got Milk Gravity Tour will feature skateboarders, BMX bike riders, and even an inline skater. The following people will be participating at the Stockton event: CHRIS GENTRY is a professional skateboarder who is ranked as one of the top ten Vert competitors in the world. At the 2000 X Games, Chris placed seventh in Vert Competition and fourth in Vert Doubles. JOHN PARKER, whose name is synonymous with BMX riding, placed fourth in the 2000 X Games in BMX Vert. He consistently places in the top 5 in every contest he enters. CHRIS LIVINGSTON was a vert skateboard Finalist in the 1997 Vans/Hard Rock Triple Crown of Skateboarding. ART THOMASON specializes in flatland bicycle stunts, in which he finished 10th in the world at the 1999 ESPN X Games. Before his professional career, he won the amateur flatland title in the 1996 ESPN Destination Extreme series. JIM BURGESS is an ESPN X Games competitor and consistent top 10 finisher in professional contests. JEFF FERRIS, team manager/skateboarder, was a finalist in the 1998 Vans Shoes World Skateboard competition. BILL ROBERTSON is the veteran on the Gravity Team. Bill has been skateboarding for more than 20 years. He specializes in "old-school" flatland skateboarding, wowing the crowds with spins, kickflips, and handstands. When not skating, Bill is the tour master of ceremonies.******

PLEASE INSPECT THE PHOTOS TO SEE IF THESE ATHLETES WERE IN THE 2000 TOUR.

All the photos are in VERY GOOD condition, bright, clean and clear.

INCLUDED with the binder full of photos is an unopened / sealed copy of the GRAVITY TOUR MILK CD (produced in 1999).

Comes from the St. Helena, California, estate of an ADVERTISING MAN.

Four of the boards have unique images, the 5th and 6th boards are duplicates of the 4th board.

Guests on the initial telecast were actors Sidney Poitier and Ruth Roman, singer/actor Sammy Davis Jr., and Senator Wayne Morse, among others.

GOOD condition, some of the plastic spirals are missing and some others are cracked but they still function well, the boards have a bit of edge and corner wear but are overall solid, with images that are bright, clean and clear.

An unusual item related to the history of WBBM-TV Chicago, AT RANDOM, Late Night Talk Shows, and television broadcasting.

    About AT RANDOM:

******AT RANDOM was a late night talk show seen on Saturdays in Chicago, hosted by Chicago Sun Times columnist Irv Kupcinet. The show was a pioneer program, receiving a Peabody Award and 15 Emmys during a 27 year run that grew to include a 50 station national network. Premiering on Chicago's WBBM in February of 1959, AT RANDOM was one of the few places a serious minded audience could watch Mortimer Adler, the world's foremost Aristolean, exchange views with teamster Jimmy Hoffa. Kupcinet liked odd couplings and would keep watchers awake until the early morning hours, in unrehearsed discussions that ranged from three to four hours. Many Chicagoans got into the habit of going to bed early and rising when the show came on. Authors, filmmakers, scientists, sports figures, politicians, industrialists, and labor leaders were drawn to this frank and full discussion.******

From the Gallery: "Vancouver based Richard E. Prince works in three dimensions, espousing a bricoleur aesthetic and working method. The exhibition features a group of new works that are three dimensional pieces, with some on wheels. Often his works have narrative aspects, and moving parts, and seem light hearted in tone. Upon closer looking, however, darker and deeper themes may emerge. Prince seems to ponder metaphysics and the what-makes-things-tick aspect of life on our planet. Richard E. Prince was born in British Columbia and has exhibited across the country since his first solo exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1972."

Published by the Steinbaum Krauss Gallery, New York City and The Lawrence Lithography Workshop, Sundland Park, New Mexico, 1999.

From the Colophon Page: "This book of lithographs by Roger Shimomura is a co-publication project of the Steinbaum Krauss Gallery, New York City and The Lawrence Lithography Workshop, Sundland Park, New Mexico. The images are derived from a series of paintings about the artist's experience as a child in Minidoka Concentration Camp in Hunt, Idaho, during World War II. The key line images were drawn by the artist on mylar and exposed to positive working plates. The color plates were hand painted under the artist's direction...The prints were hand printed by Michael Sims at The Lawrence Lithography Workshop on a direct pressure flatbed press...The binding and cover assembly were done by Priscilla Spitler at Hands on Bookbinding in Smithville, Texas. There are 30 books in the edition."

Artist's Statement: "Because I was so young at the time, the memories I have are very few, but those that I have maintained are still quite vivid. This series of works represents nearly all of those memories, that is, all of them except for one. As wonderful as it had seemed to live close to most of my friends and relatives, I remember never fully understanding exactly why we moved, and wondering if we were ever going to go back home."

When originally published in 1999 the book was priced at $8,000.

Condition: There is a bump to the bottom of the spine affecting the bottom blank spine corner of the inner pages, and a slight bump to the top of the spine only affecting that corner of a few preliminary pages. Otherwise bright, brilliant, and very scarce.
